Adair County Law Enforcement Center

Kirksville, MO

Law enforcement center expansion/remodel and new addition design

Create an expansion/remodel and addition design for a modern law enforcement center to support a county’s current and future administrative and detention needs.

Our team worked closely with the Adair County Sheriff’s Department to identify the best design solution to meet their operational and aesthetic goals, including using the existing jail structure to house the sheriff’s department.

Located in downtown Kirksville, MO on the site of the previous jail, the new law enforcement center includes 52 beds in single and multiple occupancy cells, an eight-bed work release unit, complete detention support facilities and the Adair County Sheriff’s Department. The existing building was expanded and remodeled to house the sheriff’s department, while a new state-of-the-art detention facility was connected to the existing building. The project team developed a phasing plan that allowed the existing jail to remain operational during construction.
