Kwame Smith Named 100 People to Know
SFS Architecture’s Kwame Smith has been named one of the “100 People to Know” by the Kansas City Business Journal. The list celebrates top people in advertising, nonprofits, technology, architecture and financial services.
Smith is a registered architect and LEED accredited professional with 20 years of building design experience, 18 of those with SFS. Throughout that time, he’s worked as a principal architect and project manager on academic, workplace and civic projects whose scopes of work range from planning, existing building renovation, and the design of new facilities. Today he serves as the firm’s public safety specialist, with a portfolio including fire stations, fire training facilities, police stations, justice centers, jails and detention centers. Recent projects include:
- Overland Park Fire Station 41.
- Central Jackson County Fire Protection District Station 6.
- Overland Park Fire Station 48.
- Bonner Springs Government Services Center.
- Big Bull Creek Park Police Substation in Edgerton.
- Basehor Police Department.
- Overland Park Fire Department 9/11 Memorial.
The accolade follows Smith’s inclusion in the “20 to Know in Architecture” series that was announced in April.
