Design expands church worship and fellowship spaces, enhances warm, inviting atmosphere

Design a church facility expansion that meets the current and future worship, instruction and fellowship needs of its congregation and conveys an open, inviting atmosphere to current and potential members.

Our design team worked collaboratively with church leaders to undertake a master planning process that examined potential future expansion needs and balanced facility space and increased parking needs.

The approved design replaced the church’s existing worship space with a larger one constructed over a new multipurpose fellowship hall, increasing the building area with room for future classrooms expansion while retaining much-needed parking. The worship space and fellowship hall both have street frontage, visually inviting passersby to view the activity, light and spiritual icons of the church. Inside, the narthex wraps around the fan-shaped sanctuary, creating a welcoming transition between outside activities and the focused, quiet interior.
