Design an educational facility that supports and enriches a distinguished private school’s academic program, enhances the positive aspects of existing buildings, and establishes a standard of design excellence for future additions.

SFS designers consulted closely with Barstow School administrators to identify project goals to create a successful design and address practical issues of circulation, access and construction phasing.

The Barstow School’s new lower school facility houses preschool through sixth grades and accommodates approximately 280 students in 18 classrooms. Extensive use of natural light, curved forms and classic, durable materials yields a warm, energetic teaching and learning environment and establishes a common design language for the school’s future.
