Waylon Arndt
First impressions and cohesiveness are important to Waylon Arndt. Drawn to buildings’ exterior form, materiality and context, he enjoys the diversity of SFS’s portfolio and opportunity to “bite off as much as you can chew.” Since joining the firm in 2005, Waylon has applied his design sensitivity and attention to detail in a variety of new construction, restoration/preservation and renovation/addition projects. A Kansas City native who bikes to work when feasible, he is straightforward when summarizing his approach to sustainability: quit wasting energy. Presumably he would share this same advice with those interested in eating barbecue other than Kansas City’s famous recipe.
