Director of Business Development
SFS Architecture is seeking a highly-talented and motivated team member to fill the role of Director of Business Development, where they will lead all aspects of the firm’s business development efforts while working with our highly-collaborative team. This position works closely with leadership on implementing a strategic business development plan and sourcing new business opportunities and will frequently collaborate with the marketing team on pursuits and collateral needs. We are looking for someone who has a deep understanding of the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry and is a go-getter who enjoys building relationships and helping the firm grow.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop business development plans for each market sector, working with leadership to set and track annual goals.
- Research and identify project leads for public entities through networking, posted RFP/Q’s, public funding sources, CIPs, master plans, and other avenues.
- Maintain the tracking database for leads and opportunities (Unanet/Cosential).
- Seek out, build, and maintain relationships with industry partners for teaming opportunities.
- Lead the development of pursuit strategies, win themes, and messaging for responses.
- Provide guidance and coaching through interview preparation and presentations and participate in client debriefs for pursuits won and lost.
- Attend conferences and trades shows, as needed.
- Contribute to the implementation of the firm’s Strategic Plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, or related field.
- Eight or more years of relevant experience, preferably in the AEC industry.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with proven writing and editing abilities. This person communicates with management, peers, technical professionals, potential clients, and teaming partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Adobe InDesign).
- Self-motivated and able to work individually and collaboratively; detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines; punctual, diligent, and professional with all internal and external activities.
- A PLUS: Familiarity with Unanet/Cosential and Ajera.
